Fall ZOOM

Traveling to the Annapolis Valley yesterday I witness the early splendor of Fall. The leaves are definitely turning. They’re at the point where some have totally turned, and some are just beginning. They are a perfect mix of every shade of green imaginable with yellow, orange and red sprinkled in.

Now, as I’m driving along at 110 Kms/hr, on cruise, I think to myself, this would make a really cool picture. You know…the blur of all the colours as you whiz by.

There was a time in my life I prided myself in the fact I could multi-task. When I worked outside my home I could be seen talking to an employee about a payroll issue while calculating benefits for entire stores. Well, my friends, that time has passed. Along with the very pathetic social skills I have now as a result of pretty much being a hermit, I now can barely chew gum and type at the same time. Well, actually I hardly ever chew gum so that’s a pretty lame analogy…I can no longer type and THINK about paying bills at the same time. Yup! That’s more like it. That’s a better analogy. My point is, I’m starting to think my brain is shrinking a lot faster than it should be. Pretty soon I may have to leave instructions on how to find my way out of this house if I’m not careful.

Back to my point. I did have one didn’t I??? Oh, yes. Back to the fall trees…
As I’m driving, I reach for my camera bag and pull out my trusty sidekick and start clicking.

I’m sure as other driver’s pass by me they must think I’m a crazy person taking photos of all the cars that go by.

I’m sure the police will stop me at any minute. For goodness sakes, there’s a fine for talking on the cell phone, so I can’t imagine what would happen if I get pulled over for taking photos while driving!

I’m convinced I will be whisked away in handcuffs for a violation of some kind.

Then, I realize, noone really cares or even notices what I’m up to.

Then, I see this. This is what a pumpking patch looks like with a highway sign in front of it as you zoom by.

To think I actually did this while driving. I guess my multi-tasking abilities are a little more in tact than I thought.

Life is good. Life is really good. Especially when you take the time to notice.

reCONNECTION

Here's a little share of what we were up to this weekend.

The above layout was prepared for the Saturday Challenge in the class I'm taking with Jessica Sprague. (credits: F Jardine-hearts; K.Pertiet-stitching; LynnG-flowered paper)

EDIT: Anyone notice the date on the layout above? I'm not really in some timewarp. This happened on the 4th.

The blocked layout is something I've been doing for a while, but I feel the need to mention Allie Edwards. She's famous. I'm not. She did a tutorial on her blog recently. I have not. She is really talented. I am not.

There you have it folks. I'm not very interesting these days. What can I say. Monday is almost over and I'm off tomorrow to do some of the work I actually get paid for.

Have a good one!

fruits & veg. OH MY!

A little sneak peak at the results of our mini road trip today. Gotta love the beautiful fall Nova Scotia weather!
