Well, yes indeed, it`s that time. I have been working away lately. Getting lots of projects completed. Even had a time for a little get together with a few friends. That certainly was a lot of fun. Somehow I managed to pull off baking a ham and scalloped potatoes even though Wally “forced” me to be the tester for some pretty tasty shooters before our company arrived. Sorry for missing the part about cooking the vegetables for dinner guys – maybe next time!
We had our first so called “major storm” of the year this week. Lily had a good time playing in it. Wally & I put some lights in our front urns. Not much snow came, but here was enough for Wally to throw together a pretty funny “scary” snowman for me. Love how he can pick up on things. I just mentioned in passing one day that I would like to make a snowman this year. Quite late in the evening it was snowing, I was cuddled up on the sofa in my jammies and a snowball hits the window. I look out, and there it was, in all its “glory” – our little snowman. I rushed out in my PJs and grabbed a couple of pics. Nice. Really Nice. Man I love this guy!
Looks like we will now be trekking to Labrador City for Christmas. We’ll make our 14 hour drive through Montreal first and then another 22 hour drive and a ferry ride to Labrador City. I’m thinking I may have a few tidbits to share upon my return. Since our plans changed, I had to put the Christmas preparations into high gear. The place cards are attached to the ornaments, the annual calendar is almost ready to be printed, the Christmas cards have been made and it’s now up to Canada Post to get them into everyone’s hands; and finally I am almost done making “sweet & spicy nuts” to give to Wally’s staff and a few of our friends. These nuts are a first time for me and I have to say I’m liking them. I decided to include the recipe on the tag, just because. You never know if someone will want it. So there it is. Nothing too funny. Nothing too interesting. Just everyday life here.
