Thank you…and now there were 2.

This year is the first time Mom and I readied the garden for the season without Dad. There have been times in the past he was too ill to help, but he was always available to advise and instruct. What could have turned out to be a very difficult day turned into a wonderful time in part to Wally taking the day off to help, and Todd being there to pretty up his Nan’s car. Most other years, I end up driving home totally exhausted and in pain. Today I hardly felt like I did a thing. I’m sure the sunny 19 degree weather helped with all of our dispositions, but just having everyone around to pitch in was really great.

I decided to show Mom the layout I did “the Hammer Story” and we cried a little together. It felt good to share some of my feelings about the loss of my Dad with family other than my husband. It was a moment in time that I felt connected to the woman who is my Mom.

Thanks to everyone who left kind words on my blog as well as on our class message board. This is all so new to me, that it is especially exciting to have feedback. Sharing my blog is something I have only done with a few people…so a great big thanks go out to everyone for sending their love.

I have been busting, just waiting to find the time to tackle lesson 3, now is the time…so many ideas floating around this head of mine for new layouts. Just how I like it. Excitement and enthusiasm, missing for a few months has found its way back into my heart.
