Hello Monday. The lights are on and it’s really nice to see you.

This weekend was mostly filled with work, but I did have a pitstop down to the Valley for my niece's baby shower. Her second little girl is arriving soon and it was nice to see her and my great niece. It was also nice to see the gorgeous nursery and the many, many beautiful baby things.

Congrats to Candice, Cory and especially MacKenzie for becoming the Big Sis.

Here’s the deal. When Wally is away at sea and unreachable I can live with it – well I have to live it don’t I. BUT, when he’s away and in port, and should be reachable, that’s an entirely different scenario. It makes for a very cranky wife when she really wants to hear his voice or read his words. It makes said wife send e-mails that say…"hello…hello…anyone there?"

Now when said wife can’t reach her husband and the news is constantly warning about a hurricane that’s heading her way, it ramps up the anxiety level. (I am still not over a storm that hit in 2004 that ended with holes in our house and a Fire Dept. visit.) BUT, that’s another story…

So, no power but zero damage makes for a very relieved me. The power came back on about 4am, but went out again after lunch today and just recently came back on again. Oh! What’s a girl to do without her computer. I thought about house cleaning, but had to put that off because of a lack of hot water and power. I thought about finishing my seasonal decorating, but searching a windowless, scary room with a flashlight canned that idea. I thought about finishing a traditional scrapbook page; but just when I was organizing, the power came back on. So, now I get to finish processing the photos I’ve taken lately and start my first assignment for a class I’m taking with Jessica Sprague.

Guess that means cleaning, laundry and decorating have to be put off until tomorrow. Now that just breaks my little old heart.
