Life's BLUNDERS

I found out last night I made a blunder that could have caused someone a lot of pain. Oh Boy! You know your brain is not functioning properly when you try to do something with a kind heart and end up really making a mess of things. Intrigued anyone? Well here goes.

I receive a call a while back from my mother-in-law and she tells me Alexandra’s mother died. I say “oh, that’s terrible, etc, etc”. Within a couple of days of said conversation I sign and send off a sympathy card to Alex. I find out last night Alex’s mother is indeed alive and well. Oh Lord! Can you imagine receiving a sympathy card when you shouldn’t! To be honest, I can’t even remember ever meeting Alexandra but apparently I did almost 8 yrs. ago at my sister in-law’s wedding. Insert groan here.

All names used in the telling of this story have been changed to protect the privacy of the individual(s). Just wish I could change mine right now!

I'm off to work now, and promise I will be double checking names, dates, birth order, etc. prior to sending any cards, notes, gifts, etc. to anyone - just in case my brain remains in full stop.
