heavy on Photos

I am currently taking a photography class at Jessica Sprague.com, so I'm afraid I will be in share mode. AND, since we are still totally infatuated with our new toy (750 Shadow) it just seems natural to take photos of it.

Last evening I followed Wally in our car, pulled over and then took a ton of shots of him driving. Basically I was doing this to fullfill my 1st assignment using the shutter priority setting on my camera (TV on a Canon Rebel XTi).

The photo below is "Freedom"....as in, Freedom of the Road.

I ventured a little further myself this evening. I put on Wally's helmet and took a few spins around the parking lot of our local mall - which I now realize turns into a church service on Sunday evenings...I cut my little jaunt short because I figured it wouldn't be looked on too nicely if I was going round and round making lots of noise while they were having their service.

In the short time I did drive, it really was easy to see that old skills can sometime return with ease. As the saying goes "just like riding a bike"..it really felt like I've never stopped driving. Next time, if I have a new helmet, I just may venture out onto the road.

It's been hot here, and we're having troubles getting our little pool set up this year. 1st thing was when we pulled out the ground sheet we discovered a mouse had made a cozy nest for her babies in it and we almost killed them all. Wally carefully picked each and everyone up and we made a new little nest by our shed. Luckily within an hour the mama had come and taken them all. Phew!

Next, we put up the pool and quickly discovered there was what we thought was A LEAK when we started to fill it. So, down it came...

Wally spent time on his knees searching for holes and discovered many and then repaired many. It's up again and we've been filling. There is still a leak somwhere but it's a very slow one, so hopefully this will be the last time we have to go through this! Did I mention it's been really HOT!!!

I had a thought that maybe we would purchased a 2nd motorcycle next year, but I'm seriously thinking our pennies may need to go towards a permanent aboveground pool. I am a true water girl and a summer in the pool everyday is a good summer indeed.

Tomorrow I plan on getting my paper out early and then off to purchase the remaining pool supplies we need. Oh, and I can't forget my appt. with the Doc. Then it's all me and the pool baby!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Have a Happy Monday folks!
