Shortly before Wally left this time, he says...my ring is in the bathroom if you want to put it on my chain. Very sweet thought indeed.
Many years ago - I'm not exactly sure when - but most likely in 1995, as Wally was preparing for a deployment and removing his jewelry (he used to wear a chain then) I decided to put it around my neck while he was away. It became our ritual. Then when we became married in 1997 I added his ring to the chain and wore them both while he was away. He hasn't worn his chain in so many years I can't even remember when, so it was particularly thoughtful of him to remember our little ritual.

He says in an email I received this morning after he's been up for 19 1/2 hours with 2 1/2 hours to go..."I've been missing you even though its only been 4 days. Feels like 40." Ya, I hear you babe. I hear ya.
Lisa, this is beautiful....I never knew that no wedding rings were even allowed while serving, but I understand why. I love how you put the word w/the pic. And thx for the comment on my blog. This class is already fun!
I also love your Wednesday Wishes entry and what you said about your photography vision. I need to get this into words for myself. I have only one photo shoot lined up for the class but my plan is similar to yours and offer them a CD for free. I need to get more folks lined up to shoot, though!
Lisa, this is a very touching photo with so much meaning behind it. :) B.
