Long Weekend Hooha

It's now day two of our 3-day May 2-4 weekend which actually is not May 24, it's May 19th. We didn't have any plans this weekend at all, and since yesterday was a total rightoff due to torrential rain, and this morning we awoke to gleaming sunshine, we headed off to the south shore for an impromptu drive and to possibly grab some mussels from the festival being held there this weekend...and that we did.

I mean we drove to the south shore, walked in the rain, tried to have lunch at a bistro that decided they didn't like the looks of us and wouldn't serve us...boohoo on you people at that bistro. And then we walked a little more and headed into a small market that was really overpriced but soooo worth it! We had a sample of mussels, bought waaaay too many goodies, wandered around a little more and then headed out to Indian Point where we visited a mussel farm, bought some mussels and scallops - which by the way are still in the shell, so lord knows how we'll get those suckers shelled, and then sadly headed home.
