I'm in HEAVEN...or hell!

My baking adventures are continuing along quite splendidly...she writes with a smurk on her face.

In the past few days I have been surrounded by the smell of the Holidays. It's simply heavenly! I've subjected myself to making Nutella Rolls which are so, so yummy and EASY; Rice Krispies Balls, that happen to not involve any actual baking, and any child over the age of 5 can make, so they're pretty high on my list of so, so yummy treats too; Peanut Clusters, which also don't fit in the baking category but are on my so, so yummy list; Cinnamon Loaf (x2) and Cherry Loaf (x2) that do involve the use of the oven, and took significantly longer to cook in the middle than they were supposed to; Cherry Balls that also don't fall into the actual baking category but came in handy to finish up most of the leftover cherries I had on hand. I'm finishing up with short breads this afternoon and then moving on to the finale of candy cane fudge tomorrow since I just realized I don't have enough icing sugar for the recipe.

I've been putting together a binder of recipes that I love and here is one for Rice Krispies Balls. I'm thinking most everyone has this recipe but I thought I'd share anyway.

Wally happened to arrive home early the day I was in the middle of making the Rice Krispies Balls. He decided he liked his a little (OK, a lot) larger than mine. We actually measured the ones he made to approx. 2" each! I'm thinking it's a guy thing!

This is the first year I've attempted to make these kinds of treats. It may be my last. I'm not totally into this baking thing yet, but who knows, maybe if I keep at it I may learn to enjoy the process. I'll be making tins of goodies for our neighbours, my hairstylist, my Mom and any leftovers will be distributed to the family that will be here on Christmas Eve for dinner, since these types of goodies are definitely on my "do not eat" list.

The snow has been falling hard since about 9:30 this morning. I only wish it was going to stick around. Wally just happens to be duty today, so I'll have the shovel in hand; and he, thank goodness will be hanging out on board the ship until dinner time tomorrow.

I've been enjoying all of the Christmas cards that have been deposited in our mailbox. I just love me my Holiday cards!

Today is a keep warm and snuggly kind of day. Today is a Life.Is.Good kind of day.
